Hip Disarticulation & Hemi-pelvectomy Prostheses |
|
 |
Every prosthesis Leimkuehler, Inc. fabricates
is specifically designed for each patient through the use of casts, measurements
and working models. |
|
 |
The Canadian type hip disarticulation prosthesis
is used universally with various modifications. The socket is a total contact
design providing suspension, containment and weight-bearing. The amputee
sits in the socket and bears weight on the ischial seat. Suspension is achieved
over the iliac crests. The prosthesis is fabricated with modular components
making the prosthesis as light as possible and easy to adjust. The hemi-pelvectomy
prosthesis is designed in similar fashion. |
