Transtibial Prostheses |
|
 |
Every prosthesis Leimkuehler, Inc. fabricates
is specifically designed for each patient through the use of casts, measurements
and working models. |
|
 |
There are 2 basic types of transtibial prostheses:
The Patellar Tendon Bearing (PTB) prosthesis was developed
at the University of California. It provides an intimate fit and efficient
distribution
of pressure.
It is universally used as the standard of prosthetic management for transtibial
amputees. There are multiple suspension methods available as well as foot
designs.
The Patellar Supracondylar (PTS) prosthesis incorporates
suspension into its design. |
